My Kingdom For a Red Dress
Anthropologie is taunting me. Again.
This falls underneath the “Darn it, I can’t wear silk and can’t justify $200 for a dress right now” column. But, in my imaginary closet of impossibility: this dress is the reigning monarch. (And that wall is pretty impressive too.)

Please please please buy this dress for you! It is gorgeous! You have a whole year of occasions to wear it so divide the cost by each big deal and you’ll have an affordable fancy…even if you include dry cleaning!
I so wish I could, because this dress just speaks to me. But I am allergic to silk. As in, have it on for 5 minutes and I overheat to the point of drenching my clothes. Le Sigh. But it’s pretty to look at.
Ah, yes, Anthropologie… I’ve avoided the catalog and online store for years for this very reason. I did suspect that I would go broke when they opened up a location in the West Edmonton Mall (while I worked there, no less) but to my heart’s delight (and disappointment), the store looked and felt nothing like the catalog and that dream-inducing photography.
Oh… I know that feeling! There is one at a mall in the PDX area that is really bad. Nothing like how amazing the Seattle and Santa Barbara stores are. However, I basically troll the website. And IZ calls the catalog “Wende Crack”. Um…
